About Childbirth Educator Training

New career as a Certified Childbirth Educator

A rewarding career starts with proper education. Take the first step toward becoming a Certified Childbirth Educator with CAPPA International.  This training meets one of the components of the CCCE program and prepares you to work through the steps for certification. This course is designed to improve the skill-based knowledge and perspectives on childbirth for perinatal professionals.

This training can be used as credit hours for recertification with CAPPA and has been awarded for CEUs (Continuing Education Units) for nurses in the U.S.A.

Why Certify as a CCCE?

Certified Childbirth Educators (CCCEs) provide evidence-based information to communities, families, and professionals. Childbirth Educators can offer their classes to families at hospitals, community agencies or run your own business in private practice. If you already have training related to childbirth such as doulas, labour and delivery nurses, midwives, women’s health workers, and agree to uphold CAPPA’s vision to empower families to make the best-informed decisions for their births, you may be eligible for the accelerated program. You will be embarking on a new career as an entrepreneur sooner. Be your own boss! Whether your goal is to begin a new career, enhance your current position, or for your own enrichment, this training will start you off in the right direction!

Why Parents' Coach Network?

Once you have completed our training and are certified with CAPPA International to practice in Canada, you will be invited to join our Parents’ Coach Network for three months. You will be able to teach childbirth classes while you set up your own business. This allows you to discover how you want to run your classes – the format, hours of work – to fit your own schedule and lifestyle. Find out about our next training dates here.
